Becoming Supernatural - Joe Dispenza - Review

When we can bring in coherence and orderliness in our respective inner world, the universe aligns the outer world accordingly, making our life happy, joyous and fulfilled. It's the crux of what Joe Dispenza has tried to elucidate in his book ‘Becoming Supernatural’ and by the end of his narrative, I was fairly convinced on the wonderful path laid by the author.

Joe begins the first chapter of his book referring to the story of Anna Williams, a married and settled women with two adolescent kids. However, one day life takes a traumatic turn when her husband decided to jump off the tallest building in the town, killing him on the spot. The incident sent shock waves within Anna mixed with tornado of negatives emotions ranging  from sadness, guilt, hopelessness, victimization, grief, isolation, betrayal and anxiety. An obsessive recall of her horror moment countless times meant that she kept pumping her body with a never ending stream of cortisol, a stress hormone.

In 9 months time, Anna woke up being paralyzed below her hip, over the course of a few more months her immune system weakened further more leading to uncontrollable urinary track, the saliva stopped producing in her mouth which made consuming food difficult and finally tumour was identified at the gate of her stomach, which got diagnosed as cancer. As her health deteriorated, she lost her job, became financially bankrupt and as we begin to think can life get any worse, she got hitched into an abusive relationship as well.

Since the death of Anna’s husband, her life was sliding through a steep downward spiral and suicide certainly appeared to be a preferrable option. However, she pauses her thought process, relooks her life from a distance and decides to step away from all the damaging aspects of her life, be it relationship, medications and importantly the chronic stress producing past experience. Anna dedicates herself to a transformation process and around six months time frame, she could experience visible changes in her health and a few years down the line, she flips her story upside down becoming an entrepreneur leading a blissful life. The critical point to note is that once the inner world experienced a right shift, the outer world aligned accordingly.

The fundamental point driven by Joe is to witness ourselves as an energy center and not physical body. Our heart accompanied by the entire system produces electromagnetic waves which in a frequently heard term can be stated as aura. As the range of our aura multiplies, we are bound to attract a life of our desire while coincidences and synchronicities gets associated as a non surprising element.

The path to becoming supernatural lies in shifting the control from body to the mind, with that perspective, Joe brings forth the significance of seven chakra’s in the human body. They are Root, Sacral, Solar Plexus, Heart, Throat, Pineal gland / Third eye and Crown Chakra, starting from base of the spine to a few inches above the head. The first three chakras are consumers of energy while the ones from the heart and above leads to higher intelligence and energy.

The second critical point is to embrace elevated emotions like joy, love and gratitude which shifts the energy to the 4th chakra and above. However, negative emotions like anger, sadness, victimization, jealousy, fear and rejection will push the body into survival mode, consuming energy and reducing the electromagnetic field around us.

There are many more crucial aspects discussed, ranging from the alchemy of melatonin, techniques to manifest our desires, limitations of banking on just our fives senses to understand the world, tapping higher intelligence to break beyond three dimensional reality and interestingly create coherence amongst humans for a peaceful environment.

Becoming supernatural certainly picks itself as a must read for anyone looking to transform their life. It's a lengthy book and can easily consume 1 to 2 weeks to finish it off.
